Biography

A native of Osawatomie, KS, Lieutenant Davis enlisted as a Nuclear Electrician’s Mate in 2012. He was selected for the Seaman to Admiral-21 program and attended the University of Kansas starting in 2014. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 2017 and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He commissioned as a Submarine Warfare Officer from the University of Kansas’s NROTC Unit in May 2017.

Following commissioning, LT Davis attended Naval Nuclear Power Training Command and Nuclear Power Training Unit in Goose Creek, SC. He then completed Submarine Officer Basic Course in Groton, CT before reporting to USS Pennsylvania (SSBN-735)(Gold) in Bangor, WA. LT Davis first served in the Engineering Department as the Damage Control Assistant before serving as the Assistant Engineer for the remainder of his time on board. He also served as the Quality Assurance Officer for two maintenance periods. While on the USS Pennsylvania, he completed five strategic deterrence patrols.

LT Davis currently serves as an Instructor of Naval Science at the University of Kansas. In addition to instructor duties, LT Davis manages all aspects of the command’s nuclear accessions and serves as the command Security Manager.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal along with various other unit and personal awards.
